Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Green 2
I hope you have had a lovely summer! My name is Miss Littlechild and I am the G2 class teacher. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of teaching and getting to know your children. The class TA’s are Mrs Mulumba and Mrs Smith.
Our topic for this half term is ‘Friendship’ where we will be learning about ‘what makes a good friend’, working as a team and acts of kindness.
P.E will be on a Thursday. Please ensure that your child brings their P.E kit in every Thursday. The School P.E kit consists of; a white T-shirt, blue bottoms (or shorts) and a pair of trainers.
I am happy for your child to leave their P.E kit on their peg during each half term. They will then be sent home at the end of each half term to be washed.
Home reading makes a real difference to children’s learning and progress. Thank you in advance for your support. It would be fantastic if you could spend 10 minutes each evening reading with your child, asking them questions about the story and then sign the journal. The journal needs to be signed before we can change your child’s book.
We will be doing an Independent Learning project this term on Friendship. Your child will receive an Independent Learning book, however please feel free to use other materials from home. At the end of this half term the children’s projects will be brought into school to be exhibited for all to see. More details will follow.
The children will receive a list of spellings and maths homework each week. The Maths work will help prepare them for the following week’s lessons. Spellings will be tested every Friday.
Our school can get quite warm throughout the year and children will need to take jumpers off at some stage in the day. I currently have 28 children in G2 all wearing similar sized school jumpers. Please help the G2 team and your child by marking their name clearly in all items of clothes, including P.E kits.
On Wednesday 21st September at 2:45pm we would like to show off our new classroom! Please come and join us (via the office) to take a look around and see some of your child’s work. If you are unable to make it on this day please let me know and we can arrange another time.
I am available after school if there is anything you would like to discuss. Please feel free to come and have a chat. Alternatively you can leave messages for me in the office and I will call you back as soon as I possibly can.
